Ben Neill Coaching
Last updated: June 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Ben Neill Coaching ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Ben Neill Coaching running-coaching service, including our iOS client app and the coach web admin (together, the "Service").
Ben Neill Coaching is operated by Ben Neill [TO CONFIRM: legal entity type — e.g. sole proprietorship / LLC]. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at the address in the Contact section.
Account information. When an account is created for you, we collect your name and email address, and authentication information needed to sign you in.
Coaching content. We store the training plans, workouts, paces, and mileage your coach assigns to you, along with related coaching notes and any messages exchanged through the Service.
Run / activity data. We collect the run data you log in the app or sync from a connected source, which may include distance, pace, duration, heart rate, splits, and GPS routes/location traces for your activities.
Strava data (only if you connect Strava). If you choose to connect your Strava account, we receive your Strava activity data on a read-only basis (OAuth). This can include the activities listed above plus associated metadata that Strava provides. See Section 8 for details.
Apple Health / HealthKit (planned, not yet collected). We intend to offer an optional, read-only Apple Health connection in a future release so you can sync run data from Apple Health. This is not currently enabled and no Apple Health data is collected today. If and when it is enabled, Health data would be read only with your explicit permission and used only to provide the coaching service. We would not write to Apple Health, and we would handle Apple Health data in accordance with Apple's requirements (including not using it for advertising or sharing it with third parties for marketing).
Technical / usage information. We may collect basic technical information needed to operate and secure the Service (for example, app version, device type, and log/error information). We do not use this for advertising.
We do not collect payment-card information through the app. We do not provide nutrition or diet tracking through this Service. If coaching fees are billed, that happens outside the app.
We use the information above to:
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use Strava data — or your run data — to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
With your coach. The core purpose of the Service is one-to-one coaching. The run data you log or connect, and your training/coaching content, are shown to your assigned coach (Ben Neill Coaching) so they can coach you. Your data is not shown to other clients or unrelated athletes.
Service providers / sub-processors. We use the following third parties to operate the Service. They process data on our behalf and are described more fully in Section 6:
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of you, us, or others.
Business transfers. If the Service or its assets are involved in a transfer (for example, a sale or reorganization), information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Supabase (hosting & backend). Account data, coaching content, and run data are stored and processed using Supabase (Postgres database, authentication, and storage). Supabase infrastructure used by this Service is hosted in the United States, so your data is processed and stored in the US. Supabase processes this data on our behalf under its own terms and security practices.
Strava (connected source). If you connect Strava, Strava transmits your activity data to us through its API at your direction. Your use of Strava is governed by Strava's own Privacy Policy and Terms. We access Strava data only on a read-only basis and only to provide coaching feedback to you. "Powered by Strava" attribution is shown where Strava data appears in the Service.
Apple (platform / future Health). Our iOS app is distributed through Apple. If we later enable the optional Apple HealthKit connection, your use of Apple's services is also governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterward only as long as reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes, maintaining records, or complying with legal obligations).
When you ask us to delete your account or data — or when we no longer need it — we delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law. Disconnecting Strava stops further import of your Strava data; you may also ask us to delete the Strava-sourced data we already hold (see below).
This section applies if you connect your Strava account.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in Section 13. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
GDPR (EEA/UK users), high level. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process your data to perform our coaching agreement with you, to comply with legal obligations, with your consent (for example, connecting Strava), and for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service. You have the rights listed above and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Because our infrastructure is in the United States, your data may be transferred internationally; we will rely on appropriate safeguards where required.
CCPA/CPRA (California users), high level. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access and deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
The Service is not intended for children. It is not directed to, and should not be used by, anyone under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies under local law, such as parts of the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including authentication, access controls that limit a coach's view to their own connected clients, and storage with our backend provider. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
